Thanks to young Ollie Jenkinson, aged 14 from Biggleswade in Bedfordshire for this picture of a recent mid-double Mirror Carp caught whilst stalking at a local lake.

Ollie used a Series 7 Spincast 9ft rod and FD 4000 reel loaded with 10lb mono to sneak about the margins and under overhanging trees, presenting a very simple rig consisting of freelined breadflake.

The Mirror weighed 15lb 8oz and Ollie told us:-
“The fish put up a great fight but I managed to keep it from the snags and weed beds. I think that they are amazing rods for the price and I have had some nice pike on it as well as carp”
