It was a great start to the Avon Valley Winter League for Drennan Bordon who managed to take victory on a very tough day at Broadlands Lake.

The Drennan-backed team was headed by individual winner Rob ‘Weasel’ Deacon who caught 39lb 11oz of skimmers and bream.

He caught predominantly with a small Drennan Method Feeder matched to a 12ft Matchpro Medium Feeder rod with 5lb Feeder & Method Mono and a 0.12mm Supplex hooklength to a size 16 Silverfish Hair Riggers hook. Hair-rigged sweetcorn was the top hook bait.
