The River Severn has thrown up some clonking fish this season, and this roach landed by London angler Wayne Casserly is right up there with the best..
Weighing 3lb exactly, it was his first fish of the day on a trip to the lower Severn. Fishing four maggots on a size 14 below a groundbait feeder plugged with hemp and caster, Wayne landed the clonking roach at first light. He backed it up with another of 2lb, plus 50lb of bream that muscled in on the action.
Well done Wayne!
