The St Helens angler had enjoyed a memorable session a few weeks ago, landing 12 doubles topped by a 15lb 1oz fish that was just shy of his PB. Unsurprisingly, he couldn’t wait to get out again the following week and found the river rising after heavy rain. Another 10 doubles followed, before he hooked something much larger at 6:30am, which turned out to be the 18lb 3oz fish. Boilie hookbaits fished alongside a feeder filled with groundbait and pellets did the trick.
