It’s often said that you’ll get bites quickly if pike are in the area, but when Tom O’Connor had a run 10 minutes after setting up, he was amazed to land this 35lb 4oz specimen.
He was fishing Trawsfynydd Reservoir in north west Wales, and had the fish on a popped-up herring deadbait. The fight lasted 10 minutes, and when it hit the net, it became obvious that he’d landed a fish of leviathan proportions. He landed three more fish that day, all between 11-16lb.
Well done Tom!
