2025’s was a winter to remember for many grayling anglers, with the last of the specimen fish reported this 3lb 1oz fish from a southern chalkstream.
It was caught by Tom Gosden, who used nymphing tactics to great effect.
Fishing on a bright and frosty morning, Tom drifted his fly through a deep glide and connected with a large fish that hugged the riverbed. After carefully steering it away from far bank trees, he finally had it in the net. It beats his previous PB by 3oz.
