Having landed two good bream of 12lb and 14lb throughout the week, Dorset angler Tim Jackson topped the lot with this 17lb 8oz slab from a southern pit he frequents.
Targeting a clear, silty patch amongst a weedy area 60 yards out, Tim opted for his trusty homemade fishmeal boilies, using an 8mm offering on the hook. The previous night, he baited with half a kilo of crushed boilie to ensure it’d be at its most attractive early in the morning.
His plan came to fruition, when at first light, his left-hand rod registered a lively bite. Tim lifted into what he could tell right away was a big bream, bigger than his previous ones, and gently played the mid-seventeen to the net.
Well done Tim!
