Drennan Leicester have recruited three new anglers for their forthcoming Warwickshire Winter League campaign.
Ian Sharratt, Rob Casterton and Dave Whittington will bolster the team’s bid to qualify for the Winter League Final after a successful summer which saw them finish seventh in the Division One National plus second in the Middle Trent Team Championships.
“Ian has won and framed in countless Midlands canal matches over many seasons, including a 35lb 2oz net of bream in the Dams and Locks summer league this season. Rob is a good all rounder; young, keen and talented. Dave has won a Division 2 National team gold medal and is looking to extend his abilities on venues further afield,” said Drennan Leicester captain Nick Moss.
“All six rounds of this league are on canals; two on the Coventry, one each on the Beeston, Fazeley, Loughborough and Soho Loop. It’s a strong league with Shakespeare, Sensas Dams and Locks, Black Country and Trentmen amongst our opponents. We’ll be trying our best to win it and reach the national final, and our new recruits make us strong contenders.”
