If you’re only going to catch one fish in a session you may as well make it a good one, and that’s exactly what Thomas Trethewey did with this 4lb 11oz perch..
He’d travelled from his home in Kent to a large East Anglian reservoir, where he hoped to land some of the large stripeys these vast waters are famous for. He’d spent all day casting lures in bitter temperatures, but in the afternoon his efforts were rewarded when his slowly retrieved jig was hit by a fish that plodded in the depths. With it being his only fish of the day, he was focussed on getting it in the net, which he swiftly did when he saw the size of it!
Well done Thomas!
