Terry ‘Theo’ Theobald from Wales with a 13lb 2oz specimen from his first Spring Bream haul of 2013! This cracking photo was deservedly ‘Picture of The Week’ in this week’s issue of Angling Times.
Theo fished a session on a large Southern lake, and laid down a big bed of bait at around 60 yards to try to attract the venue’s Bream shoal. His strategy worked as he went on to take fish of 11lb 6oz, 11lb 4oz, 10lb 9oz in addition to the Bream pictured above.
He fished a leadcore leader to pindown the mainline, with an ESP Two-Tone braided hooklength to a size 8 Specimen Plus hook baited with a 12mm Betaine Pro boilie counterbalanced with a piece of artificial sweetcorn. This was fished with a PVA bag of Betaine Pro Pellet and cast into the middle of the baited area using a Drennan Distance Specialist Tench & Bream 12ft 2lb rod.
