Welsh-Wizard Terry ‘Theo’ Theobald is on a bit of ‘hot-streak’ for big Chub at present; they can’t resist his maggot trotting skills or escape the reach of his Matchpro Ultralight 15ft rod!

Having enjoyed himself on the River Great Ouse recently, Theo travelled over to fish the Lea – and was rewarded handsomely with another 10-fish haul of quality Chub – including a 5lb 4oz, 5lb 7oz and 5lb 8oz, plus seven 3lb & 4lb fish.

Theo’s usual polished killer trotting tactics were the winning tactic – incorporating a 4.5g Loaded Waggler, 4.4lb Floatfish mono and a size 14 to 4lb hook to nylon with a single maggot hookbait.

“Really enjoying it at the moment but feeling a bit tired working nights and fishing days!” Theo explained. “I hope to finish the season with a flourish!”
