Welsh ace Terry ‘Theo’ Theobald capped a memorable period trotting for specimen Chub at the end of the season with this 7lb 4oz stunner from the Dorset Stour.

On a damp grey day, Theo came up with this lovely photograph helping him win a Drennan Cup weekly award in last week’s issue of Angling Times. We liked Theo’s rain-spattered spectacles lenses – fortunately his sight wasn’t impaired enough to prevent him catching another tremendous brace of fish!

If you follow this page you will have already seen Theo warming up recently with similar hauls of specimen Chub on both the River Great Ouse and River Lea – this consistency highlights his considerable skill, and his standing amongst fellow specimen anglers!

The Chub was braced with a 6lb 4oz example, and fell yet again to maggots trotted on Supplex line using a Drennan Matchpro Ultralight 15ft rod.
