Edward Lewis from Nottinghamshire sent us this fabulous picture of a recent specimen Barbel, following his return to fishing after a 5 year break!
Having fished extensively in the past, Edward got back into the sport in October and retrieved all his old gear from his parents home. Fishing on the Derbyshire Derwent, Edward began with a confidence booster – bagging Dace & Roach on the stick float, but then experienced a few blanks and lost a Barbel in a snag.
At Christmas Edward was lucky to received some new items of tackle, including a Drennan Super Specialist Twistlock handle. Since the holiday he has been out twice, and first bagged this wonderful double-figure Barbel – what a fish, a new personal best! And what a great smile!
Edward has been using some new 3FT Dubby boilies along with some paste made from Elipse pellets, and in his 2nd trip of 2013 last week, caught this 6lb Chub! “It’s funny how your luck can change! Fingers crossed we will have a mild spell towards the end of the season” remarked Edward.
