Yorkshire’s Stuart Walker sent us this gorgeous photo of a 12lb 2oz Barbel caught from one of his local rivers recently, during low clear conditions.

Stu prepared a number of swims with bait, left them to rest and then fished them in rotation – taking Barbel on the first cast from 3 of the swims. He used a Drennan Oval Blockend feeder with a 4ft long Super Specialist Sink Braid hooklink with 2 small Ellips pellets glued onto the hair. All the fish were landed with the aid of a Daiwa Infinity Barbel 12ft 1.75lb rod and 12lb mainline.
