Milton Keynes specialist Stewart Harris won a Drennan Award in this week’s Angling Times with this tremendous 7lb 13oz Chub caught at the beginning of March. This really is an exceptional Chub, caught by design after some dedicated angling.
The fish was caught in the River Great Ouse and is (understandably) a new personal best, crowning Stew’s campaign for a 7lb+ fish after around 30 previous career 6lbers spanning around a decade of big fish angling! Minutes later Stew landed a 5lb 12oz fish from the same swim to record a truly memorable brace.
It was caught using a Drennan Medium Feeder 11ft 6in / 13ft Combo rod, and Stew used a paste wrapped Relish Boilie from Frank Warwick baits on an 8lb Super Specialist Sinkbraid hooklength.
“I don’t think I’ll be threatening my PB for a while now” a very happy Stewart told us.
Great Angling!
