Wolverhampton’s Steven Brady won a Drennan Award in this week’s Angling Times for one of the biggest ever Chub from a Canal, with this 7lb specimen!

Steven identified the huge Chub in an area close to far bank snags and branches, and was able to stalk it and finally cast a large piece of freelined luncheon meat on a size 6 Super Specialist hook to the fish. The Chub took the bait instantly and charged back towards some sunken branches!

“I thought I was going to lose it” said Steven, “Luckily I managed to turn the fish, which then charged towards me into the net”
