Thanks to Oxfordshire specialist Steve Russell for this nice wintry night shot of a recent big Thames Chub!

Steve motivated himself for a cold, wet dark evening after a tough day at work and was justly rewarded with a spectacular bite from this fine conditioned fish – which weighed 5lb 2oz.

The Chub took a glugged Dynamite Baits Source Boilie hair-rigged tight to the shank of a Korda Wide Gape hook on a Drennan Carp Silk soft braided hooklength.
