Oxfordshire’s Steve Russell has sent us some lovely Grayling photos from the end of the river season – all taken trotting.
Steve tells us during the course of several trips at the end of the season to various rivers and Chalk streams he took twelve Grayling over 2lb, but the elusive 3lber escaped him for now!
All these fish were taken trotting maggot or corn hook baits beneath a Loafer float trotting using a Youngs Centrepin on a Drennan IM9 Finesse Float 13ft rod. The picture below shows two 2lb plus specimens taken in consecutive trots inside a minute!
