A five-week campaign on a 40 acre Hertfordshire gravel pit finally paid off in big fashion for Steve Grinaham when he landed this 11lb 12oz tench.
Steve pre-baited a new spot the day before his session after deciding to move away from the more pressured areas of the lake. Arriving early the next morning he caught the fish within the first two hours of daylight, using a 12mm source boilie on a short braided rig attached to a method feeder loaded with oily ground bait.
