Having suffered some ill health lately, Stephen Gibbons’ time on the bank had been limited. However, on his return trip he was rewarded with this colossal rudd of 3lb 9oz.
He was fishing the Fens and, realising the fish were sitting a few feet below the surface, trotted bread flake along the middle of the river, three feet down, to tempt the new PB.
The bite came around 30 yards downstream, with the fish taking the bait by a weedbed.Well done Stephen!
