The Drennan Leicester squad are catching a few fish on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal practice matches for the forthcoming Division Two National.

Team member Neil Pitfield has led the way, after catching 15lb 10oz of skimmers to win the 138-peg Wigan DAA open match on the Red Lion to Saracen’s Head section. He used his trusty Drennan Pinkie floats on 0.10mm Supplex line to a 0.08mm hooklength and size 18 and 20 Carbon Match hooks to catch steady all day with bread and maggot.

The team also had three section winners in Lee Morley, Gaz Smith and Nick Moss. They are now hoping their good fortune continues on the National itself as they try to earn a place back in Division One, where they believe they should be.
