Greg Sire caught this excellent 6.5kg mixed bag during an enjoyable three-hour session on a lake at St Georges sur Eure, near Chartres, France.
“To start, I threw in five balls of Sensas Gros Gardons Fine and a homemade roach groundbait mix and then fed two balls of ‘double leam’ containing joker and chopped worms,” the Drennan enthusiast explained.
“The swim was 1.5m deep at 11.5 metres and I used a light, slim 0.4g pole float to catch roach with single bloodworm on a size 20 Drennan Ultra Fine Pole hook. For the bream and skimmers, however, I used a much heavier 1.5g round-bodied float for extra stability. This allowed me to fish a few centimetres overdepth with treble bloodworm or small pieces of worm on a size 18 Polemaster Competition.”
“To keep the fish in the swim I had to regulary cup another ball of double leam containing more joker and worms.”
