Big perch are known for being picky feeders, and whilst on a trip to a flat calm Grafham Water, Simon Davidson had to wait until clouds rolled over and the light faded before tempting this 4lb 15oz specimen.
He was using lure tactics on the session with his dad, James. The pair had landed a few good fish on small shads throughout the day with James landing predators to 3lb 15oz and Simon to 4lb exactly before the real monster came out to play. With the chance in cloud cover, Simon changed over to a jelly worm which proved the right choice as he banked this beauty, bearing his previous best of 4lb 4oz.
Well done Simon!
