Since winning the Drennan Cup last season, Hampshire angler Simon Daley has been looking to boost his PB’s on various stillwater species and has just landed a best 11lb 3oz tench
Simon has had his eye on a certain venue for a while and has had some great success landing three fish over 9lb, seven over 8lb, topped by the eleven-pounder.
He told us “It’s some of the best tench fishing I’ve experienced in a while. It’s been hectic at times, and in a 24-hour period I had 13 fish, five of which I lost in weed. All of them have been caught on simple inline feeder tactics, feeding chopped worm and maggot. My hookbait followed suit – worm and fake maggot, fishing on the back of a weed bed 60 yards out.”
