Sam Hubbard has been working rather hard at his perch fishing over recent seasons, and his persistence certainly paid off for Yorkshire all-rounder, with this 4lb 4oz specimen.
It’s his new personal best and was caught from a Yorkshire river on a single lobworm hookbait, mounted on a size 6 hook. Sam used light 1oz glass tip and a braided mainline, making an incredibly sensitive setup. A soft, 1lb tc rod cushioned the fight nicely, and helped Sam land a fish he’s truly chuffed with.
