Stephen Chesney had sweetcorn to thank during his latest rudd session as it helped him bank this 3lb personal best specimen.
The Suffolk-based angler quiver tipped single grains of sweetcorn on a section of a Fenland river to take the large rudd as well as four others.
He told Angling Times: “I was totally blown away by this fish – I’ve had several 2’s up to 2lb 7oz but this one was in a different league and fought very hard on 4lb line tied direct to a Drennan size 12 Super Specialist hook.”
