The River Lea has been in fine form this season, with it hitting the headlines almost every week. One angler to take full advantage of this at the end of the season was Ricky Woolfe as he banked himself this stunning 19lb 12oz barbel..
Getting out of bed before dawn, to be on the water for first light can be a massive edge in fishing, but for one man, a more relaxed approach paid off on a recent trip at the back end of the season.
Rowan Mersh has been fishing the River Lea at Fishers Green this season and is generally on the bank from dawn to dusk. But, having endured many blanks, he decided on a more relaxed start to the day, this time not arriving at the river until a leisurely 11:15am. This obviousbly paid off for Rowan as by fishing a piece of meat tight to a snag resulted in this stunning 18lb 1oz barbel!
Well done Rowan!
