“That elusive four-pounder has eluded me for years”
For several years, Hampshire angler, Rod Fowler, has been pursuing crucian carp on a Southern stillwater. Not a long stay angler, he just fishes day sessions, and although he’s enjoyed some great results with the species, that elusive four-pounder has alluded him.
That was until a recent session, where he landed not one, but two crucian carp over the magic mark, the first going 4lb exactly, the other weighing an impressive 4lb 3oz. On the same session, Rod added four other crucians between 2lb 12oz and 3lb 6oz, all of which fell to corn fished on a method feeder 40 yards out.
