Winter chub fishing for many, revolves around fishing multiple swims in a day, roving the bank and covering as much water as possible. But Rob Walton showed that sitting and steadily building a spot can also produce, after landing this 7lb 10oz fish from Kennet.
Using a large maggot feeder, he kept the bait going in for an hour before his tip wrapped round and he connected with the specimen. On a size 12 hook, he used three maggots alongside a smear of cheese paste for added attraction. This is Rob’s third fish from the Reading and District AA’s stretches of Kennet over the seven-pound mark in the last nine months. He’s now after an ‘eight’!
Well done Rob!
