Bobby Brookes managed to fool this pristine barbel of 14lb 3oz during a short morning session on the River Dove.
On a rising river that came up 3ft during the day, the Staffordshire angler caught the fish on a large piece of garlic Spam, carefully presented under overhanging trees on the inside.
Bobby used a 12ft 1.75 Drennan Specialist Tench & Bream rod with a running lead setup to bounce the bait under the cover with the aid of the flow. His hook link consisted of Super Specialist Sinkbraid and a size 4 Continental Boilie hook.
