This fabulous big Perch picture features Ian Bailey with a specimen from Rib Valley Lakes in Hertfordshire.
Ian has been enjoying consistent fish at the fishery by employing a Drennan Driftbeater float, set up ‘lift method’ style – which has fooled a succession of 2lb and some 3lb+ fish at the venue. A deep, close range swim of around 12 feet in depth is ideal, allowing a short under-arm cast with a Lobworm hookbait, where a big bed of around 50 chopped worms is laid to bring in the Perch. What an interesting, exciting and (importantly) low resistance way to catch them, well done Ian!
