Lucjan Sliwa landed his biggest ever carp from Poland during his holidays.
“I was fishing for roach and orfe on the feeder, but then the swim went quiet and the fish became less active. I changed to a longer hooklength, about 4ft long, to try to catch them on the drop using corn as a hookbait.
“I had a take on the second cast, and after a while it became clear that I had hooked something very big. As my hooklength was only 0.13 mm, I could not put too much pressure on the fish. I played the carp for almost an hour. Luckily I managed to land it successfully!”
Sliwa was using his Red Range 9ft 6in Mini Carp Feeder rod with 6lb line and a 20g open end feeder filled with groundbait and a 4ft hooklink of 0.13mm to a size 12 Specimen Eyed hook.
