“I caught this cracking 17lb 5oz barbel on my first trip out fishing on the River Lea this season”

“I only got my ticket a few weeks ago and was waiting for the ideal conditions which came just a few days before the end of the season. I used meat on a very long flouro hooklenth, pinned down with a few blobs of putty. I arrived just before dark and only had to wait an hour or so before getting the bite! The fish beat my old pb of 16lb 12oz, which is a fish I caught over 10 years ago. It also proved to be my third 16lb-plus barbel from three different rivers”
