Dorset specimen ace Pete Reading caught this superb 7lb 6oz Chub from the Hampshire Avon before the season ended.   Pete used his reliable maggot feeder tactics using a very short 3 inch hooklink to 3.2lb line and a size 18 Super Spade hook baited with a single maggot, having fed with the swim with a baitdropper loaded with hemp & maggot.

“The chub fishing on the Avon is the best it has been for decades, with plenty of chub of all sizes and some huge specimens.  Fives and sixes are commonplace, and chub to 8lb are taken each year” explained Pete to the Anglers Mail.
