“I hooked a trout on a pin tail lure and could see on the sonar that the perch were following it”
Having purchased a bow mount motor, to use with the reservoirs boats and the intention of targeting some reservoir perch, Oxfordshire angler Paul Scowen’s investment was rewarded with a fantastic brace of perch at 4lb 10oz and 4lb 6oz.
Managing to get onto a Southern Reservoir for a few hours after work, he hooked a trout on a pin tail lure and could see on the sonar that the perch were following it. It wasn’t long before Paul hooked another fish, and thinking it was a trout, he screwed the clutch down and was going through the motions before he saw a large perch flash 10ft down. Immediately, he backed the drag off and managed to slip the fish over the net with minimal drama. Weighing 4lb 10oz, it was a massive result, and shortly after he landed another fish, this time of 4lb 6oz.
Well done Paul!
