After his father died suddenly and unexpectedly a two weeks ago, young Alfie Lane went fishing on the Dorset Stour with local expert Paul Potter and landed the chub of a lifetime.

Alfie and his father used to fish the river multiple times a week, and the aim of this trip was to get one of the venues specimens from one of his dad’s favourite spots. A superb session followed, with Alfie enjoying non-stop action from several chub, topped by this superb 7lb 10oz fish. In addition, he landed a handful of bream, with the fish falling to Klips boilie hookbaits fished over micro pellets.
The big chub gave a bite like a barbel, ripping line from the rod and taking line during the fight. It’s safe to say, this one’s a memorable capture for Alfie.
Well done Alfie!
