On a trip to a local stillwater, Northamptonshire angler Paul Jackson struck gold with this 32lb pike.
It was his first session after pike this season, and he had the fish on half a bluey, fished around 60 metred out on a paternoster setup. The bait had only been in the water for just 30 minutes when Paul’s bobbin dropped off and line was slowly pulled from the spool. Striking, he hooked what was clearly a big fish. For 15 minutes he battled it, with the specimen tail-walking and ‘scaring the living daylights’ out of Paul, before he safely netted it.
