“A change of bait resulted in something special”
Trying a new bait is one of those things that excites us anglers, but often we end up wondering why we didn’t just stick with our tried and tested favourites. Sometimes though, a change can result in something special, as Essex angler Paul Faint found when he banked this 7lb 15oz chub on a boilie named The Herb from Handcraft Baits that he’s recently switched onto.
Fishing the Thames, he baited a swim sporadically with 12mm baits then fished a matching boilie on the hook, wrapped in paste. After a five-pounder on his first cast, he hit into another fish a few hours later that turned out to be this 7lb 15oz specimen.
