St Neots specialist angler Paul Elt has sent us this lovely photo of a majestic brace of big Rudd, which he caught just last weekend from the Fens in the East of England.

Paul has spent the last two Summers pursuing these beautiful fish and made good use of a Sunny afternoon and evening by catching six fish all weighing just under 2lb, plus this pair at 2lb 7oz and 2lb 3oz.

Paul wrote a nice article in last week’s Angling Times detailing his simple tactics – floatfished breadcrust using a forgiving-actioned rod – a Drennan Matchpro Float 14ft – and a piece of crust on a Wide Gape hook.

Paul advises that this brace marks his last Rudd trip of the Summer, and next he’ll be doing some predator fishing on reservoirs – and has promised to let us know how he gets on.
