Congratulations to Drennan-backed Dean Barlow for once again being selected to represent his country for this year’s World Feeder Championship.
The Preston Innovations England Feeder Team remains unchanged after it won both team and individual gold medals so convincingly in Ireland last year. It consists of Steve Ringer, Phil Ringer, Dean Barlow, Mick Vials, Adam Wakelin and Rob Wootton, with Tommy Pickering as manager.
On his selection, Dean commented:
“Being selected to fish for England is the highest honor you can get in our sport, so when I got a call from England Feeder Team manager Tommy Pickering telling me I was again in the team I was over the moon.
“To win a gold medal like last year and get the chance to defend the title is a dream come true. Being current World Champions doesn’t mean we can rest on our laurels; we have to work even harder now as every year each team gets better and better.
“The Dutch will obviously fancy themselves on home soil but we have also fished the venue a few times before.”
The 5th World Feeder Championship will be held in the Netherlands on the 200m-wide and 32km long Ghent-Terneuzen Canal on the 11th and 12th July.
