“Levels were a little high, but with time running out for the season, he took his chance and fished from his boat, float-fishing a smelt”
It’s safe to say that Neville Fickling is on a fine roll at the moment, after landing a 40lb 12oz pike, the Lincolnshire predator expert didn’t stop there, instead he got right back out and landed this colossal 18lb 14oz zander from his local river.
Levels were a little high, but with time running out for the season, he took his chance and fished from his boat, float-fishing a smelt.
At 8pm it trundled away just as he was beginning to wonder what he was doing out in the dark in cold and miserable conditions. He’d been out for a total of 22 hours, 12 of which were in blackness. The fish made it all seem worthwhile, and beats his previous best zander of 16lb 8oz.
Well done Neville!
