Millington’s Tackle in Chorley has recently held a fantastic charity fishing day at Whitmore Fisheries in Lancashire to raise money for BBC’s Children in Need.

Two anglers were fortunate enough to win the auction, with a day’s fishing with England stars Alan Scotthorne and Stuart Conroy being the prize. After chatting over breakfast the pair were soon catching fish on method feeder tactics using our 9ft Acolyte Feeder rods whilst picking up plenty of tips along the way.

The event was also broadcast live on BBC Radio Lancashire on John ‘Gilly’ Gilmore’s show where Matt Shaw from Millington’s hosts a regular fishing slot with Gilly.

Thanks to Whitmore Fisheries for holding the event and special thanks to Alan, Stu and Matt from Millington’s Tackle for organising the event. Despite the strong wind and rain, both anglers had a great day and raised over £600 for a very worthy cause.
