Yorkshire specialist angler & Don Valley Specialist Group member Michael Townsend was one of the lucky winners of one of the Drennan Camo Keepnets in a competition run by Martin Bowler recently. Michael has an enviable record with specimen sized roach, and in the past has caught genuine monsters of well over 3lb from stillwaters, plus river roach up to 2lb 12oz!
“I used it for the first time this week and it brought me luck with 5 nice roach including 3 over 2lbs!” enthused Michael.
The biggest fish, which weighed 2lb 9oz is pictured here. Successful tactics involved a small Kamasan Black Cap feeder fished helicopter style on 4lb mainline, with a 0.12mm hook length to a size 18 hook baited with two white maggots. Superb!
