Portsmouth’s Matt Tann has finished his river season with yet more specimen fish – this time a Hampshire Avon Barbel, plus some handsome chub!
Matt began the last weekend of the season Chub fishing on the Dorset Stour, taking fish to 5lb 10oz with link ledgered Cheesepaste on 6lb Supplex and a size 8 Super Specialist hook.
To end the season Matt switched to the Hampshire Avon and presented a juicy lob worm, link ledgered with a 1oz lead on 10lb Supplex in a swim he’d made, which he suspected might hold a winter Barbel. Matt’s instincts and watercraft were proven correct when this handsome 10lb 13oz fish picked up to tempt this handsome 10lb 13oz example!
“It’s been a remarkable season and I’m gutted its now over” Matt told us.
