Targeting big bream can certainly be a test of patience, but after two years on a Nottinghamshire stillwater, Matthew Clayton landed his target fish in the shape of this 17lb specimen.

He’d gone through most of the water’s bream stock in his first year on the venue but finally tempted the fish he was after on three-quarters of a bloodworm dumbbell boilie which he tipped with a piece of corn. This was fished on a D-rig presentation 80 yards out over a bed of hemp, pellets, corn, casters and a sprinkling of maggots. Interestingly, this fish was part of a double take, with it falling to the second rod Matthew picked up.
Well done Matthew!
