Without doubt one of the prettiest big Barbel we’ve seen this season, and fabulous photography  – caught by Portsmouth’s Matthew Tann from an undisclosed river. 

Matt baitdropped a swim with good old Hemp & Caster and left it a while in peace before creeping in to fish, when the rod top smashed round within 2 minutes!

An artificial buoyant Caster was threaded down the hook shank of a size 10 Drennan Super Specialist Barbel hook, then 2 real casters carefully nicked onto the bend –
“An absolute deadly approach!” remarked Matt.
