Lure fishing tactics paid off in spectacular style for Martyn Welch, who nailed this stunning 4lb 4oz perch from the River Trent.

Martyn was using a Z-Man TRD plastic lure when the big perch hit:

“I cast to the opposite side of the river and the perch nailed the lure on the drop!” Martyn explained.

“It fought really well on the light gear I was using, and is a new PB for me, beating my previous best of 3lb 15oz.”
