Martin Bowler caught this magnificent 14lb 9oz Thames Barbel a few weeks ago using one of the Drennan Specialist Barbel rods he helped us design!

This fish made it 7 different UK rivers from which Martin has caught a 14lb+ specimen from, a most impressive record indeed. The Barbel was fooled with a Richworth Xtracta Boilie, presented hair-rigged to a size 8 Drennan Continental Boilie hook.

The fish put up a tremendous scrap with the river up and coloured, and was landed on 15lb Fluorocarbon mainline on a Drennan Martin Bowler Specialist Barbel 12ft 1.75lb rod.
