Feeder fishing with bread can be a deadly tactic for chub and roach during the winter months, but when fast or deep rivers make sure to select the right feeder.
When fishing on deep rivers such as the Thames I like to ensure that the bread remains in the feeder and slowly breaks off rather than it all exiting on impact with the bottom. To achieve this, I choose to fish a Kamasan Black Cap feeder with the bottom end neatly cut away rather than a more traditional open-ended feeder.
