“The fish made my holiday and is a new lake record“
Whilst on holiday at Lincolnshire’s Tattershall Lakes, York-based bathroom fitter, Mark Horner, was experiencing some slow carp fishing and decided to have a few casts with a spinner. Little did he know, he’d end up catching this immense 31lb pike!
Caught on the complex’s main lake, the pike beats Mark’s PB by 6lb, and is what he describes as the ‘fish of a lifetime’.
“I had a wander round the lake and hooked this monster under an overhanging tree,” he told us.
“I was so glad when I finally netted it, as it tail-walked multiple times, trying to spit the spinner and head for the snags! The fish made my holiday and is a new lake record.”
